NBC Universal will provide affiliates in 20 markets with ad spots featuring Olympic athletes to promote local ad sales during NBC’s coverage of the Beijing Summer Games, Multichannel News reports. NBCU also will promote HDTV content sales by providing affiliates with on-air ad spots, direct mail and bill stuffers, in addition to material meant to retain HDTV subscribers, the newspaper says.
