U.K.-based Taylor Nelson Sofres and German firm GfK AG have agreed to merge, creating the second largest global market research firm, Mediaweek reports. The merged company will be called TNS-GfK and will have an estimated revenue of $4.2 billion, with each firm owning 50% of the company, the newspaper says. Taylor Nelson Sofres owns TNS Media Intelligence and TNS Media Research in the U.S., the newspaper notes.
