Ad Buyers See Spending Cuts

While reporting earnings, two French-based media giants—Havas SA and Publicis Groupe SA–said the economy is affecting ad spending by marketers in the automotive and financial categories, the Wall Street Journal reports. Both firms have major media buying operations in the U.S. Havas chief executive Fernando Rodes Vila said there are signs of moderating ad spending by auto and banking clients as consumer spending slows.
