Walt Disney’s media networks’ second-quarter earnings rose 9% as its ESPN sports channel had higher subscriber fees and improved ratings from the NBA Finals and U.S. Open golf tournament, the Wall Street Journal reports. The networks’ performance helped drive the parent company’s earnings up 8.5% from a year earlier, the Journal says.
