Growth Slowing for Emerging Media

Interpublic’s Magna Global released a report revealing the “hyper-acceleration” of emerging media platforms such as search, social media, online video, gaming, interactive TV and digital out-of-home is slowing down, Online Media Daily reports. However, the outlook called for a 31.1% rate of growth in 2009 for emerging media and a 12% rise in Internet display advertising over 2007, the Web site says. The fastest-growing emerging media is social media and related social networks and applications such as ad-supported widgets, the Web site notes.
