AMC is working with producer Tony Krantz to develop a series based on Francis Ford Coppola’s 1974 film “The Conversation,” Daily Variety says. Krantz, who has been trying to get the project going for about a decade, has tapped writers Christopher McQuarrie and Erik Jendresen to work on a script. Like the film, the series will take place in the 1970s and follow a surveillance expert, the trade paper says.
