Katherine Fugate, who created Lifetime’s top-rated series “Army Wives,” has been discharged by the network and ABC Studios, which produces the show, Entertainment Weekly reports. “With the show such an established hit, now seems like a logical time for me to step away and focus on developing new projects,” Fugate said in a statement. “Army Wives” will continue under the command of Nick Thiel, who became the series’ third showrunner this spring, the magazine says on its Web site.
