Comcast, Intel to Test TV Widgets

Aug 21, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Comcast is looking to bring viewers interactive widgets on their TV screens, Multichannel News reports. The Widget Channel, developed by Intel and Yahoo, will allow developers to create customized widgets, computer programs that would let consumers access stock quotes or weather reports alongside regular TV programming, that will incorporate information and social components. Comcast and Intel plan on introducing the platform during the first half of 2009 to test, while a commercial launch is yet to be announced, the trade says.
