A group funded by Nielsen Media is looking to other research companies to find a new method for measuring television audiences based on viewing data from digitals set-top boxes, Media Daily News reports. Nielsen and rival TNS Media Research have both begun developing such systems, which look past traditional survey-based methods of measurement for a more accurate assessment of TV advertising effectiveness, the Web site says.
