MTV’s collection of TV and Web properties aimed at the college audience, known as mTVU, will launch Web sites dedicated to 25 U.S. colleges with information specific to each university’s local scene, MediaWeek reports. MTV partnered with Zvents, a local search specialist, to help create campus-related entertainment sites not unlike Yelp or CitySearch, so students could find information not only about the neighborhood dive bar but also about the upcoming fraternity party. The sites are set to launch Aug. 26.
