Many television networks that offer children’s programming are being more proactive when it comes to the health and wellbeing of their young viewers, Multichannel News reports. Nickelodeon began “The Big Green Help” initiative to teach kids to become more environmentally conscious while Cartoon Network started its “The Red Rubber Ball” initiative to encourage physical fitness. Other network initiatives encourage social responsibility and volunteerism.
