MSNBC president Phil Griffin debunked rumors saying that the cable news network’s recent anchor shuffle for the presidential elections came as a result of corporate pressure generated by disgruntled shareholders, the New York Observer reports. The paper describes what went on at the network as it decided David Gregory would anchor the upcoming debates and election night coverage, replacing Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, who will serve as analysts after their partisan tone drew criticism.
