Checking In With Rupert Murdoch

Silicon Alley Insider shares recent comments made by News Corp.’s Rupert Murdoch during an investor conference Wednesday. Perhaps his biggest statement was one many of us can’t relate to. “Hard times are good for big companies,” Murdoch said. He also said newspapers worldwide and local stations in his conglomerate’s case are not doing so well but his cable networks, including Fox News Channel, do splendidly, so it counterbalances when traditional advertising isn’t pulling in the profits. Murdoch went on to offer his opinions on the Wall Street Journal, MySpace, whether his Fox will bid for future Olympics and why News Corp. won’t be buying the New York Times any time soon.
