Google Seeks Use of TV Spectrum

Google co-founder Larry Page is seeking unlicensed access to the broadcast TV spectrum from the FCC before the November elections, the Dow Jones reports. Google and other companies want to use the airwaves for mobile devices, much to the opposition of broadcasters and wireless microphone companies who have already been testing the airwaves that will be freed up from next year’s analog shut off.
