Houston television stations used their Web sites to stream exhaustive coverage of Hurricane Ike to a national and international audience, the New York Times reports. The sites proved popular as most national news outlets turned their attention to chatter about the presidential elections and coverage of the growing financial crisis, the newspaper says.
