NBC’s Super Bowl Inventory Selling Like Hotcakes

NBC has sold more than 80% of its available ad inventory for its broadcast of Super Bowl XLIII, to be played Feb. 1 in Tampa, Fla., AdAge reports. About a dozen of the ads sold went for about $3 million for 30 seconds, says Seth Winter, NBC’s Sports & Olympic sales and marketing VP. GE executives are “pleasantly surprised” by the zeal with which advertisers are throwing down their money for prime positioning of their ads during the popular sporting event.
