Cable operators including Comcast, Charter Communications, Cable One, Suddenlink and Time Warner have committed $200,000 of TV time to transmit public service announcements to solicit support for the Texas Disaster Relief Fund, Multichannel News reports. The commitment is in response to the destruction caused by Hurricane Ike to Texas’ Gulf Coast region earlier this month. The Texas Association of Broadcasters also hopes to line up time donations from its members, Multichannel says.
