USA has ordered a pilot for “Operation Instructions,” a new show from Universal Cable Prods. and Conan O’Brien’s Conaco, says the Hollywood Reporter. The project, USA’s third pickup of the year, is about a trauma surgeon who returns home from two tours in Iraq and becomes head of surgery at a military hospital. Judd Pillot and John Peaslee, whose credits include “8 Simple Rules,” “Just Shoot Me” and “According to Jim,” wrote the script.
