Oct 3, 2008  •  Post A Comment

BET’s “Rap City” will air its final episode later this month, ending its almost 20-year run on the music and entertainment channel, the New York Times reports. The show began as BET’s competition to MTV’s “Yo! MTV Raps” hip-hop series and became a platform for the rise of the genre and emerging artists. While no specific date has been set for the finale, its replacement, “The Deal,” is scheduled to begin Nov. 10, the newspaper says.
