Writers from “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” plan to picket the opening celebration of Perry’s new studio after they say they were fired for trying to unionize under the Writers Guild of America, TelevisionWeek reports. Four writers from the series were fired after they say Perry refused to sign a benefits and residuals contract. The WGA has filed charges with the National Labor Relations Board based on the allegations, TVWeek says.
