Comedy Central announced today that British comedian Russell Brand will tape an hourlong standup special in November in New York City to air in 2009, Entertainment Weekly reports. Brand hosted, rather controversially, last month’s MTV Video Music Awards show. Some were critical of the comic for his jokes about George W. Bush, the Jonas Brothers’ promise rings and Gov. Sarah Palin and her family.
