CBS College Sports is terminating 30 employees as its shifts from airing studio programs to increasing the number of live events it televises in high definition, the New York Times reports. “We’ve learned that live game coverage and HD production are the real value of this network,” CBS College Sports executive VP Steve Herbst told the paper, adding that the network wasn’t retreating in its competition from ESPNU, which also specializes in college sports.
