TV Movies Arrive on Cable

Once a staple on the broadcast networks, the TV movie has found a new home on cable, USA Today says. Lifetime, Sci Fi and Hallmark air the most movies, upwards of 30 apiece. Cable networks can make money off TV movies because, unlike their broadcast counterparts, they can run a movie dozens of times to recoup their costs and generate a profit, the paper says.
