Fey as Palin a Touchstone in Online Video

Tina Fey impersonating Sarah Palin on “Saturday Night Live” isn’t just funny, it’s become a landmark in terms of how people watch television and offers a glimpse of the future, the Associated Press reports. More people have been watching Fey playing Palin online or on digital video recorders than during the original broadcast. The same is true for viewings of Katie Couric’s interviews with Palin and episodes of HBO’s “True Blood.” “I don’t know if we would have seen this sort of viral activity a year ago, if people didn’t think of their computer as a place to turn to for video entertainment,” research firm Integrated Media Measurement’s Amanda Welsh tells the AP.
