MSNBC beat CNN in the cable news prime-time rankings for the month of October, The Hollywood Reporter says. Although Fox News continues to lead the cable news channels, MSNBC edged out CNN for second place for the month during the 7-10 p.m. programming block. The month’s performance marked the network’s best among adults 25 to 54 in 12 years, the trade says.
