Spanish-language network Univision consistently beats the broadcast networks on Friday nights among adults 18-34, MediaWeek reports. The median age of the audience for Univision and its Friday night lineup featuring three telenovelas is 33.5 which is under The CW’s 34.3 and way younger than the 50-plus audience of the other broadcasters. Univision’s 1.7 rating among 18-34 viewers this season beats all five broadcast networks, with CBS coming in second with a 1.3. The network’s younger viewers on Fridays have spurred increased spending by advertisers from the fast food, movie, beer and wireless categories.
