Cable Not Yet Ready for Its Own Hulu

According to a panel at the CTAM Summit in Boston, cable networks are not likely to get their own version of Hulu.com any time soon, Advertising Age reports. Cable networks still receive at least half of their revenue from cable subscription fees, and the idea of giving away content for free online isn’t in the cards. “The cable channel business is a good business model, and we want to continue to be partners with the distributors,” said Discovery Communications CEO David Zaslav, a panelist at the CTAM Summit.
