Food Network Magazine was given the green light by Hearst Corp., with the publisher deciding to go ahead with plans to publish the periodical based on the cable network, DMNews reports. The magazine was tested in mid-October with a distribution of 325,000 copies, and another test issue is planned for January. The first official issue will be June/July 2009. “We have had a great initial response to the first test issue, and feel confident that this magazine will resonate with consumers, said Hearst’s VP and Group Consumer Marketing Director Alec Casey. The magazine is being promoted by the Food Network and its Web site, FoodNetwork.com, along by other Hearst magazines and newsletters.
