Comcast Gets Complaints Over Digital Moves

Dec 18, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Consumers are annoyed at Comcast, which is moving cable channels to digital at the same time broadcasters are getting ready to end their analog signals, Bloomberg reports. “It looked to us like they were cutting service and raising prices,” says Chris Koos, mayor of Normal, Ill., a town now going through Comcast’s version of a shift to digital.

  1. You know…Comcast is doing this just to make more money off of you. There is no reason that you can’t keep your normal Basic and Standard cable if you have the correct receiver. Comcast is actually misleading you to think that you’re screwed if you don’t buy their digital cable package by February 19th. Well, I know friends who passed the local digital TV test and just had cable fed right into their TV. I have DirecTV, so there’s no problem. Frankly, if you don’t mind the setup fees (unless you can get a free setup deal) direcTV is a good deal. You get more than basic and standard cable, and you pay just about $3 or $4 more per month. UPgrading to digital cable would cost you $15 or more extra per month. Comcast is EVIL. Bad customer service, clueless installers, and false advertising. No wonder why I switched about a year and a half ago.
