Dayton, Ohio, local news anchor Mark Pompilio will lead his final news broadcast for WKEF-TV/WRGT-TV on New Year’s Eve, the Dayton Daily News reports. A person currently on staff who is yet to be named will step in for Pompilio, the newspaper says. According to station manager Dean Ditmer, the decision to let Pompilio go was based entirely on economic circumstances and not ratings, the DDN says.
