Kevin Martin’s last meeting as FCC chairman Jan. 15 will focus on implementing the recently signed DTV nightlight bill, Broadcasting & Cable reports. Congress recently suggested the agency should focus on DTV matters and issues, since it faces time constraints with the new administration beginning its transition shortly after the meeting, the trade says. While the SAFER Act will be the focus of the meeting, Martin says he will try to hold votes on other items currently in circulation, such as rules for the advanced wireless services auction and fines for cable companies for lapses in DTV education, B&C says.
