NBC Looking to Unload Final Super Bowl Spots

Although NBC has sold more than 85% of its Super Bowl XLIII ad spots, the network faces a dilemma in selling those remaining spots in light of the struggling economy, AdvertisingAge reports. Industry insiders speculate that NBC still has anywhere from eight to 14 spots to sell, and that advertisers who already purchased space spent as much as $3 million for 30 seconds, the magazine says. If NBC drops the price in order to unload the final spots, it might face some backlash from those who already paid the higher fees, AdAge notes.
