NASCAR Sees Drop in Sponsorship

NASCAR CEO Brian France said the sport will not see increased sponsorship revenue next year, AdvertisingAge reports. The announcement comes a year after the company added $150 million in sponsorship money. However, NASCAR has experienced declining ticket sales, lower TV ratings, a troubled automotive industry and drops in advertising sales, the magazine says. NASCAR has already laid off 1,000 employees, AdAge adds.
