Oprah Winfrey made a $365,000 donation to a private middle school to an Atlanta school in one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods, the Associated Press reports. The school, founded by Ron Clark, fundraises and uses donations from private donors to help subsidize the $14,000 annual tuition for students, the news service says. The unsolicited donation from Ms. Winfrey likely will be used for student scholarships, and is enough to pay for 26 students to attend the school for a year, the AP says.
