YouTube Exec Details Monetization Plans

YouTube is pursuing a variety of strategies in an effort to turn its market dominance into revenue, according to Jordan Hoffner, the video Web site’s director of content partnerships, Broadcasting & Cable reports. The executive detailed those strategies at a media summit Tuesday, talking about the deployment of user-generated content as well as recent deals to obtain content from professional video producers. He also discussed the role of high-tech tools such as the fingerprinting software VideoID, which helps content owners place and track ads, the magazine reports.
