Animal Planet will use semi-animated visual graphics similar to those in the films “300” and “Sin City” in its new series “Dark Days in Monkey City,” which features monkeys living in the ruins of the Sri Lankan city of Polonnaruwa, the New York Times reports. The network, which debuts the 13-part series tonight, hopes to re-create its success with the U.K. series “Meerkat Manor,” the newspaper says.
