Chris Brown, accused of beating his girlfriend Rihanna, has withdrawn from consideration in the upcoming Kids’ Choice Awards on Nickelodeon, the Los Angeles Times reports. “The controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated,” Brown said in a statement. On Tuesday, Nickelodeon said it would not yank Brown from the awards, despite a petition drive against Brown that had accumulated thousands of names.
