CNBC Deals With the Downturn

Salon takes a look at CNBC as the markets it reveres collapse. The network’s Jim Cramer “personifies, in his very body, the war between boosterism and reality that lends CNBC such an air of anxiety,” the Web site says. The new CNBC formula still features pundits recommending stocks. If they go up, they’re geniuses, but “if they go down, it’s Obama’s fault. Either way CNBC wins,” the analysis concludes.
