News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch may begin relinquishing more control over the media giant to his son, James Murdoch, the Guardian reports. Reports surfaced after last week’s announcement that Peter Chernin will be leaving the company when his contract expires in June, sending the company into an executive shuffle, the newspaper says. According to insiders in the company’s U.K. operations, James Murdoch will be placed in a position to take over more control over his father’s position rather than simply be brought in as a replacement for Chernin, the Guardian adds.
