The Association for Maximum Service Television and the National Association of Broadcasters have jointly filed a petition with a Washington, D.C., appeals court in an attempt to overturn an FCC decision that allows portable devices, such as laptops and smart radio, to share the same frequency as digital TV, Broadcasting & Cable reports. The decision, made unanimously by the FCC under then-chair Kevin Martin, may lead to “harmful interference with the reception of their broadcast signals,” the MSTV and NAB told the court, according to B&C.
