ESPN aired a bogus story reporting that a Washington Capitals star had been suspended after receiving a call from someone posing as a reporter from the Washington Post, USA Today reports. ESPN pulled the story a half-hour later. “We didn’t follow our own fact-checking procedures and mistakenly reported the story,” a network spokesman said.
