Cartoon Network and Disney XD—formerly Toon Disney—are adding live-action shows to attract boy viewers, USA Today says. “Animation as a genre channel seemed to be very limiting,” Disney Channel Worldwide chief Rich Ross tells the paper. “We had an opportunity to broaden our voice to get more kids, and certainly boys, by reengineering what Toon Disney was.”
