Maria Shriver’s documentary on the effects of Alzheimer ’s disease, which airs on HBO starting this month, was first rejected by networks, including HBO, when Shriver pitched the idea five years ago, Daily Variety reports. HBO and Shriver, whose father, Sargent Shriver, had the disease, expanded the project into a four-part series called “The Alzheimer’s Project,” which will include multimedia aspects, the newspaper says.
