Cablevision Subs in N.Y. Area and Elsewhere May be Shut Out of Some U.S. Open Tennis Coverage

Cablevision, one of the New York area’s major cable franchises, and the Tennis Channel still don’t have a carriage deal, just two weeks before New York City’s U.S. Open tennis championships begin on Aug. 31, says Multichannel News.

Tennis Channel has sublicensed rights to 240 hours of the tournament from ESPN. The network’s chairman and CEO Ken Solomon said he’s hopeful a deal can be reached in time but added that in the four years he’s been running the network, the two sides “have not made significant progress,” despite “hundreds of hours of time spent” in discussions.

Cablevision’s response was: “We’ve made offer after offer to the Tennis Channel and they’ve turned a deaf ear.”

  1. I stumbled on this article on Yahoo even though I was looking for something similar, but I just wanted to say good stuff and I utterly agree. Is there any method to subscribe to fresh content?

  2. Hey how are you doing? I just wanted to stop by and say that it’s been a pleasure reading your blog. I have bookmarked your website so that I can come back & read more in the future as well. plz do keep up the quality writing

  3. What a comfort to find out a article that may perhaps be real at last actually worth reading! I’ve been in search of all-around regarding this topic except men and women just put waste posts, or short worthless posts. I have viewed a couple vids on youtube but it’s now the same as reading a good post.
