Discovery Communications’ second-quarter profit more than quadrupled, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Cost controls, a special gain, higher U.S. ratings, and increased international subscribers more than compensated for the slight advertising decline that the company experienced.
Discovery Communications reported a $183 million second-quarter profit on Tuesday, contrasted with $43 million in profits one year ago. The companies revenue decreased by $4 million to $881 million, while Ad revenue fell by $10 million to $368 million.
