Comedy Central has teamed up with Don Mischer Productions to relaunch its "American Comedy Awards," an annual television event honoring the best of comedy in film, television, digital shorts and performance, says the network.

Mischer, who has produced the Primetime Emmys and the Oscars, as well as a myriad of TV specials, will produce the revamped award show.

The first show is set for 2010 and will air across the MTV Networks Entertainment Group channels Comedy Central, Spike TV and TVLand.
