The game between the New Orleans Saints and the New England Patriots looked like a preview of the Super Bowl and ESPN’s "Monday Night Football" broadcast had super numbers — 21.4 million total viewers.

The broadcast was the second most-watched cable telecast in households (14.9 million) and viewers ever, and ESPN’s second-highest rating its 30-year history.

ESPN’s Oct. 5 Monday Night Football telecast of the Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings set the all-time cable records for households (15.1 million) and viewers (21.8 million).

  1. Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
