MSNBC Criticized for Ignoring Plane Terror Story on Christmas Day

Dec 29, 2009  •  Post A Comment

MSNBC executives wouldn’t discuss why the network devoted little attention Friday to the attempted terror attack on a U.S.-bound airplane, the Associated Press reports.

CNN and Fox News Channel both covered the story while MSNBC remained with taped programs, the AP said.

Mediaite blogger Rachel Sklar wrote: "If you’re going to call yourself a news network, then cover the news.”

The AP report says, "For its part, MSNBC has noted that its long-form taped programming have been successful in the ratings during weekends."

  1. Nice brief and this mail helped me alot in my college assignement. Thank you seeking your information.

  2. “For its part, MSNBC has noted that its long-form taped programming have been successful in the ratings during weekends.”
And we all know that money trumps important information any day. You lose, MSNBC! What a joke of a network.

  3. Wait? So a news network doesn’t focus on endless hours of speculation, creating horrific scenarios with no evidence, and they’re irresponsible?

  4. How did anyone know? Nobody watches it, look at their numbers.

  5. MSNBC has since its inception taken weekends and holidays off. That’s reason to not take them seriously as a news channel, but hey, if the thwarted attack had happened during the work week, they would have been on it.
