Comcast has no plans to try to turn its Versus cable network into an ESPN rival in the wake of the company’s takeover of NBC Universal, Multichannel News reports.
During a conference call, Comcast chief operating officer Steve Burke said that NBC Sports could help Versus as well as Comcast’s Golf Channel but “The idea we would take on ESPN is overly simplistic.”
