One of this year’s nominees for Best Picture and Best Director at the Academy Awards is turning to television next, TheWrap reports.
Kathryn Bigelow, who directed “The Hurt Locker,” will direct the pilot for HBO’s “The Miraculous Year” series. She’s done TV before, including episodes of "Homicide: Life on the Street" and "Wild Palms."
The potential HBO series comes from John Logan, who wrote the scripts for "Gladiator" and "The Aviator," among others. HBO describes the series, TheWrap says, as "an examination of a New York family as seen through the lens of a charismatic, self-destructive Broadway composer."
